These issues obviously have a significant impact on how we live. From driving a car vs. biking to how we heat our homes to choices we make about recycling, composting, and buying locally. Convenience usually equals ease.
Should we redefine convenience? What if “convenient” had larger implications? What if we considered how our decisions impacted the plants and trees growing around our homes, for example? Convenience, then, could become a conscious lifestyle choice …
An interesting book in terms of talking about this issue is Eric Schlosser’s Fast Food Nation. While Schlosser approaches the issues of lifestyle and convenience from the point of view of the food industry, his book illustrates the huge impact both issues have had on our society.
