Local to Boulder, Community Cycles (CC) is a non-profit organization whose mission is, “to educate and advocate for the safe use of bicycles as an affordable, viable and sustainable means of transportation and personal enjoyment in our community.” CC is composed of a community effort held together by a core of dedicated volunteers. This team provides re-cycled bikes as well as an opportunity to learn about bicycle repair, maintenance and operation through outreach and advocacy activities. CC offers a variety of programs to learn more about bikes and become involved with both local and international bike communities. Check out their programs to learn more.
This weekend Community Cycles is hosting it’s first annual Holiday Bike Swap, Give Away and Collection Drive at Boulder Outlook Hotel. They are collecting both kid and adult bikes of all types, in any condition this Friday and Saturday, December 7th and 8th. On Sunday, December 9th kids will be able to swap out bikes they have outgrown for better fitting ones. Explore Community Cycle’s Holiday Bike Swap, Give Away, and Collection to learn more about this event.
Community Cycles was able to repair and tune-up over 150 bikes, as well as find homes for 40 bicycle enthusiasts over the weekend! Community Cycles does a great job of bringing new and old members of the bike community together.
