Public Inspiration Towards Change
Jan 4th, 2008 by rlsorbe

We will be starting a journey to review properties in Boulder that are changing, or may be changing within the next year. Starting on Pearl Street, the following addresses (west to east): #720, #800, #821, #915, the parking lot of #1242, #1505, #1904, and #2905 are all examples of change and development that are brewing. Our goal is to review these properties through public input regarding architecture, design and detail.
This project challenges us to develop conscious thought and inspiration for what we want to see in our city’s future, one space at a time. Given that this public virtual participation of the design processes has not been approved by the property owners, participation by the people living and using these spaces may encourage positive change and new ideas for our developing city.
Similar to, ‘Open Architecture Network’ this journey will allow the public to share ideas, designs, plans, and comments in a public space. Likewise, it provides insight and collaboration within our community. Our reviews will help foster voices within change.
For the first property on our journey, we will visit #800 Pearl Street, also known as “Lolita’s.” For further background information on Lolita’s check out boulderspace post, ‘Lolita’s Update.’
Please comment below or send sketch ideas to info [at] boulderspace dot com for posting.
I am very curious about this design process.
I like the idea that people could offer up suggestions regarding what they would like regarding the architectural style of buildings in Boulder. Lets make this happen.
