“Design requires a broad grasp of social, economic and behavioral issues and the innate recognition of the impact of these forces. Powerful design incorporates, recognizes and acknowledges the context and culture it serves. Effective design requires a broad range of technical skills and a high level of aesthetic acuity. Together, they create a harmonious fusion of form, function and purpose,” Communication Arts Philosophy.
Team: Larry Weeks and Daniel Aizenman; Communication Arts
Project: 1309 Spruce Street (Rembrandt Yard Expansion)
Using skill and philosophy, Larry and Daniel put the ‘Yard’ back into Rembrandt Yard with elements of artistic expressions. With class and style they have incorporated an open rooftop, a water feature design that connects the buildings, and a community space into the redesign of 1309 Spruce Street.
