In support of Walk & Bike Month, Boulderspace extends an opportunity to the biking community to participate on our blog. We are looking to capture elements of design in bicycles, bike gear, helmets and other safety features, gadgets and tools, you name it! If you have a design you’d like to share, contact Boulderspace - info [@] boulderspace [dot] org.
HELPFUL HINTS FOR POSTING
- Keep it under 200 words (the shorter the better)
- Please include a photo
- Please keep your post to a bicycle design related focus
A trend we are noticing at Full Cycle is the increase in interest in the electric or pedal assist bike from Giant Bikes. I actually own one and love it for getting my errands finished up in a hurry. We have also noticed and sold a few Giant Coasting bikes with the Shimano Coasting gears. Check out the Shimano Demo. It is coming to Boulder on June 7th to the Farmers Market. It is fun to have options for people just getting into cycling or just not wanting to be in their car… gas, ouch, it was 67.00 last time I filled up!
It will be interesting to see if the Shimano Coasting series really takes off and catches on. Working in a bike shop I certainly see the older generations not taking a liking to the idea of shifting. Time will tell.
