If you missed Volume 1 and 2 of Pecha Kucha Night Denver, Volume 3 is just around the corner, September 29, 2008 at Buntport Theater. This will be the third installment of the Japanese presentation format where local creatives show 20 images for 20 seconds each. This is a variety show where architects, artists, designers (of the type, textile, and web variety), photographers, and curators join together and present their works through a rapid-fire power-point style. If you are interested in presenting in this fall’s Volume 3 Pecha Kucha Night, organizers are currently lining up presenters, so email pechakuchadenver[at]gmail[dot]com to take part in the festivities.
Pecha Kucha is the Japanese sound for conversation, and these discussions have been going on all over the world in over 100 cities since 2003! Take a look at others’ local design, from documented Pecha Kucha Night presentations at the official Pecha Kucha Night Website. The images contained this post are some examples from Volume 1 and 2 Pecha Kucha Night. Creatives include type designer, Veronika Burian with TypeTogether; photographer Brenda Biondo (Vintage American Playgrounds); Lynne Bruning (Textile Enchantress) -Looms, Lily Pads and Lights; and creative producer Kent Corbell, (kentcorbell.com).
