Boulderspace

In order to talk about our space we must take you back to the beginning. Fade in to May 2002: Sacha was living in the tiny apartment above Rob’s garage. Rob and Sacha were watching a movie when a friend opened the door and in a curt, calm voice said, “Garage is on fire.” The blaze ripped through the garage destroying gear, tools and motorcycles, leaving only a building shell. Some good came out of the carnage though, the restored building became home to our first office and inspired the company name.

Today, Mayfire has grown out of the garage office and into a space in Downtown Boulder. Our windows provide a spectacular view of the courthouse with a backdrop of the rest of Boulder. This view has indeed shaped Mayfire, the art deco tones of the courthouse echo throughout the office, and Mt. Sanitas calls us to distraction.

The space is characterized by a very modern - art deco style. The space is very open and communal. Each workspace has its own metal art deco lamp that varies in shape and size, adding nice contrast to an over sized monitor. The desks, designed by Sacha, reflect the same sensibilities of line and clean, functional design. Clean functional design wouldn’t be nearly as exciting without a swift punch of color. In suite 300 we commit to la vie en orange; from the chairs, pencil holders and recycling bins.

The interior design contributes to the work being created, as does the work also contribute to the space. Mayfire design work lines the entrance of the office.. adding that extra umph.

The limitation of space is the challenge we face as our library builds. On the top of our wish list is a revolving bookcase with secret library attachment. Until we find that on ebay, we are making due.
