Beetle Kill Lumber

The Mountain Pine Beetle has destroyed the Lodge Pole forests of our Rocky Mountains from Canada to New Mexico, turning millions of green trees to a rusty hue. While many identify these blue streak stained trees as dead pines to be harvested and chipped for the landfill, others see these pines as a quality resource to be used creatively in building projects.
Local design consultants at 12 Dime Design offer a beetle kill product, Vintage Woods, a versatile, environmentally responsible and beautiful material for exterior applications and interior finishes. Using local Colorado Sawmills and a proprietary aging method, Vintage Woods creates dimensional lumber that has the natural look of weathered time in a variety of hues and surface treatments. Below is an interior image of this beetle kill product:

Vintage Woods products are competitively priced with other building materials and are available in many dimensions and finishes. As a sealed product, the material stands up to the elements well while maintaining its beauty and integrity. The versatility of the Vintage Woods products coupled with the social implications of actively utilizing woods from the beetle kill forests creates a win-win situation for everyone.
