I am glad to find this boulderspace website. The discussions I have found so far are very interesting, and those who appear to be participating have the ability to effect change. I have only lived here for the past 4 years, and have been disappointed in the lack of alt housing opportunities. I hear of the "old days" when N. Boulder was thriving with artist studio living spaces. Perhaps not legal then, but almost impossible to find now. My impression is that as Boulder has become 'richer', the directive of the law enforcement has become more restrictive, thus forcing out very creative people.

Hi Zach,

I am anticipating the site will flourish as we get people passionate about our Boulder Space involved. I look forward to your posts...

I would guess you will get mixed responses on your questions depending on who you ask.

That is one of the joys of this blog.

I feel that as our community changes we face the most threat and attack on our core values from change itself. Change is great; however it does lead to a different community. I am the first to jump on the "change our town" bandwagon. I have been seeing a consistent trend towards leading people down the road that "lifestyle" is gained by the $$$$ per sq. ft. someone spends on a space. I am an advocate on ROI; however I don't feel we as a community get involved or at times really care about what we should value in a community.

I was talking with some guys today and we were discussing some of these exact questions regarding the blog. My thought was and has been to inspire people to live their passions in life.
It often times is hard to remember what our passions are? Once we find them, I feel that they have the ability to rejuvenate our community one person at a time.

I look forward to your insight.................

Nice site and great idea for a discussion forum. What do you think are the key issues threatening the community and it's 'core values' lately?

Bill:

It is definitely refreshing to have a place that allows for free-flow discussion of what is impacting Boulder. There are so many entrepreneurial people that live here. This will be great...

Sorbe:

I am an architect with Coburn Development and a member of Boulder Planning Board. I applaud your efforts to start a public dialogue on urban design and planning in Boulder. It is a conversation sorely needed in our town.

I hope your site draws attention and comments from all points of view. I look forward to reading it.
